Hello
I’m Meghna- a writer, design critic, and researcher, working at the intersection of architecture, media, and cultural critique. My work engages with the politics of space, the aesthetics of realism, and the evolving language of architecture in an era of crisis. I explore how design is weaponized, commodified, and sometimes, reclaimed. Whether through academic essays, editorial pieces, or visual analysis, I look at architecture not as a neutral backdrop, but as a system of power, agency, and resistance.
My Story
My work spans across writing, criticism, and architectural theory. I was born in Kolkata, India and studied at Univeristy of Illinois at Chicago, earning an MA in Design Criticism. Trained as an architect in India and shaped by the analytical rigor of architectural theory and writing in the U.S., I bring a distinct, cross-cultural lens to architectural discourse. My work engages spatial practices across disciplines, with a particular interest in failure (and its genrefication) not as collapse, but as a condition of possibility. I also explore architecture’s evolving discourse, where the instability of language informs how space is defined and experienced.
